This khichdi can be made very quickly .it is easy to make and it's filling and nutritious too.

FOR 2 persons
1/2 cup split urad dal
1/2 cup rice
1-2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp haldi
1 /2tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp dhania powder
1 tsp jeera
1 tbsp ghee

Wash dal and rice together and add 3 cups cooker heat ghee and put jeera.after it splutters put salt and all other ingredients.bring it to boil.after all the masala is mixed and no
masala is floating on top.close the lid of the cooker and after a whistle close the this way masala gets mixed well with dal and rice. otherwise masala will remain on top of the khichdi.It can be eaten with curd and mango pickles.

I am going to try this recipe in a few days. I have always made Khichdee with moong or a mix of moong and masoor. Never had it with Urad daal. Can you also post recipe for Urad daal with paalak? Its so delicious the way you make it. MM

I made the khichdee today with baingan bharta and dahi. Even Nishant ate all of it. Its quite filling too as there is a lot of daal in it.

I am Nidhi's friend from Wesleyan, and I tried your khichdi today. It was so good and satisfying, reminded me a lot like my mothers khichdi. Please keep posting more recipes whenever you get sometime.
